No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your PDFs never leave your computer.

Is this really free?

Yes, completely free. No premium plans, no watermarks. I don't even have a server to charge for.

What's the file size limit?

There's no enforced limit, but very large files (hundreds of MB) may be slow depending on your device. For typical documents, it's fast and reliable.

Can I work with password‑protected PDFs?

Yes, use the Remove Password tool to unlock a PDF if you know the password. You'll get an unlocked copy that you can then merge, split, or annotate.

How does compression work?

The Compress PDF tool reduces file size by optimizing how the PDF is saved. You can choose between Low (smallest file), Medium, and High (best quality) compression.

Can I extract just the text from a PDF?

Yes. Use the Extract Text tool to copy all text content or download it as a .txt file.

What can I do with the Watermark tool?

Add a text or image watermark to every page of your PDF. You can adjust the opacity and rotation to suit your needs.

How do page numbers work?

Use the Page Numbers tool to add custom page numbering. Choose position (top/bottom, left/center/right), font, size, color, and format (e.g., "Page {page} of {total}").

Can I edit PDF metadata?

Yes. The Metadata Editor lets you change the title, author, subject, and keywords embedded in the PDF file.

Do my annotations save across sessions?

No. Annotations are only stored in memory while you work. Once you close the page, they're gone, nothing is saved.

Why does the page count show "…" sometimes?

It takes a fraction of a second to read the PDF and count pages. It updates almost instantly.

Can I use this on my phone?

Yes, the site is responsive. However, working with large PDFs on a mobile device may be slower due to hardware limits.
